OUR STORY

The Porta Alpina Gallery Art Collection houses one of the most extensive private collections from the countries of the former Austro-Hugarian Empire, which consists of the works of the most prominent and high-quality academic artists who painted and sculpted in the 19th and 20th centuries. As a gallery, our mission is to promote the reach of cultural heritage of regional art and potential that exists in field of collecting and investing in art.

Matej Sodin

Collection Curator

The founder of Gallery Porta Alpina and collection curator Matej Sodin has been mentored by the most knowledgeable experts in the field of art and today collaborates with the world's most prominent museums. Mr. Sodin represents a combination of passionate art collector and businessman. He understands the collector’s need for quality and value, as well as for support the collectors require when assembling their own collections. His motto is to do things with passion or not at all.

Robert Ćorluka

Head of IT

The Head of IT at Gallery Porta Alpina, Robert Corluka, gained his expertise building digital ecosystems for prominent international organizations. He represents a unique combination of a skilled software engineer and a business-oriented technologist who understands the gallery’s need for flawless technological infrastructure and seamless digital support for its collectors. His motto is: where there is a vision, technology will always find a way.

Pia Župevec

Art historian

Pia Župevec, a graduate of the University of Ljubljana, holds a master’s degree in art history and has successfully completed studies in Egyptology. Deeply fascinated by ancient Egypt, she combines her academic expertise with a strong passion for paintings and sculptures. Through her work, she explores the hidden stories behind artworks and brings their secrets closer to readers.

Mariya Stanishevska

Head of Photography and Digital Marketing

As a second-generation photographer, Mariya Stanishevska carries a legacy of visual storytelling. For her, photography is more than a profession—it is her life and a bridge across time. She firmly believes that "it is only through art that a human can speak to generations."
